Inaugural Workshop on NLP for Iranian Languages
Held in conjunction with EACL 2026 * Rabat, Morocco
SilkRoadNLP 2026
The inaugural SilkRoadNLP workshop established a dedicated ACL-affiliated forum for computational research on the Iranian language family. It brought together researchers working across language resources, NLP, and multilingual AI to increase the visibility of underrepresented languages and build connections across computational, linguistic, and cultural research.

The workshop received 18 submissions and accepted 14 papers, presented through oral and poster sessions. Despite regional conflict, travel restrictions, visa barriers, and disruptions to Internet access, participants came together to share their work and begin building a sustained research community.
We thank all authors, participants, reviewers, invited speakers, and organizers who made the first edition possible.
